Paitishahem Gahambar (F)
OZCF will be celebrating Paitishahem Gahambar, as per Fasli Calendar, on Saturday, September 12th, at 11:00 am at the Z.R.C.C.
Paitishahem Gahambar is the 3rd Gahambar of the year (Fasli or seasonal calendar) and occurs in late summer / early fall from the 176th to the 180th day (Shehrevar Mah & from Roj Ashtad to Aneran, i.e., September 12 – 16 as per the Gregorian calendar). The word comes from the terms paiti and hahya (corn) and means bringing in the harvest. Paitishahem is linked with Earth, the 3rd creation. In the later Persian texts, the Amesha Spenta “Spenta Armaiti” or Spendarmard (Holy Devotion) became the guardian.
The prayer ceremony will commence at 11:00 am, in the Atashkadeh, followed by lunch in the Hall. The cost of attending the Jashan & dinner is $15/- per person; children up to the age of 5 years are free. Members wishing to attend in-person must give their names to Er. Nozer Kotwal at (905) 820-0461 or at nskotwal1@gmail.com in advance, but not later than Wednesday, September 9th. Please also volunteer to clean up after the event.
