Maidyarem Gahambar (F)
OZCF will be celebrating Maidyarem Gahambar, as per Fasli Calendar, on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Z.R.C.C. 1187 Burnhamthorpe Rd. East, Oakville.
“Maidyarem is the 5th Gahambar of the year as per the Fasli or seasonal calendar and occurs in winter from the 286th to the 290th day (Dae Mah & from Roj Meher to Behram, i.e. Dec 31 – Jan 4, as per the Gregorian calendar). Maidyarem means “midst of rest” because during winter agricultural work generally stops. It emphasizes the importance of compassion and care for all living creatures during the harsh winter season.”
The Gahambar Jashan will commence at 11:00 am, followed by lunch. The cost of attending the Jashan & lunch is $15/- per person; children up to the age of 5 years are free. Members wishing to attend in-person must give their names to Er. Nozer Kotwal at (905) 820-0461 or at nskotwal1@gmail.com in advance, but not later than Monday, December 29th. Please also volunteer to clean up after the event.
