Ayathrem Gahambar (F)
OZCF will be celebrating Ayathrem Gahambar, as per Fasli Calendar, on Sunday, October 12th, at 11:00 am at Z.R.C.C. 1187 Burnhamthorpe Rd. East, Oakville.
Ayathrem is the 4th Gahambar of the year and occurs in the fall from 206th to 210th day as per the Fasli or seasonal calendar (i.e. Oct 12 – 16 as per the Gregorian calendar). The meaning of Ayathrem is believed to be homecoming and the time of nourishment. It is the time of the year usually linked with the breeding season of the cattle, when the animals are brought home to shelter before winter sets in
The prayer ceremony will commence at 11:00 am, followed by lunch. The cost of attending the Jashan & lunch is $15/- per person; children up to the age of 5 years are free. Members wishing to attend in-person must give their names to Er. Nozer Kotwal at (905) 820-0461 or at nskotwal1@gmail.com in advance, but not later than Wednesday, October 9th. Please also volunteer to clean up after the event.
If you wish to offer your home-made Malido, Ravo, Sev and/or dry-fruits, flowers, fruits, Sukhad, Loban, we ask that you make arrangements with Er. Kotwal.
If you and/or your friends wish to sponsor a Gahambar & lunch or any other religious event in the future, please provide your interest to Er. Kotwal.
