Articles of Faith, continued
The previous, 4th session of the AVSS (pt. II), was momentous! What a way to end the calendar year (2017) and inaugurate the promise of mindful reflection building strength and wisdom for renewal (the previous session being on the eve of Yalda, winter solstice, and the birth of Mithra to vanquish the darkness).
In the previous session, a discussion of the working document, Articles of Faith, began.
In this upcoming sixth session, participants are called on to continue a discussion regarding Articles of Faith. Having cleared the first 22, session participants will now scaffold these with a discussion of subsequent Articles.
The Articles to be discussed in this session, support the assertion of the first 22 (previously discussed Articles). They provide a framework of tenets of faith, to Realize Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds. The content of the Articles which will be discussed, provide articulation to the 'mission statement' and 'operating system' of Daena Mazdayasni, by providing a 'code of conduct'.
It is anticipated that this session will involve a high degree of participation, via debate, contemplation, and interrogation of beliefs.
The Articles of Faith attempts to be a self-standing preliminary document of faith identification, elaborating core beliefs. However, it does not stop there. The Articles of Faith attempts to simultaneously give credence to faith expressions, by being a self-contained code of conduct.
In this regard, the Articles of Faith is not meant to be 'administered', rather it is meant to be 'adhered'.
Unlike any other Trust, Secular, or Priestly council documents, the Articles of
Faith IMPOSES responsibility via FAITH utterances.
In the upcoming session, we attempt to discuss: responsibilities and conduct of officiants, executors of the faith, and individual adherents of Daena Mazdayasni.
